CLAIM: the Allied bombing of Dresden was
a war crime and an atrocity because it was an undefended
cultural city of no military or industrial
importance.
RESPONSE: However, Dresden was a legitimate
military target. It was a key railroad junction and therefore
an important transit point for military traffic.
